Mercor vs micro1 jobs

A neutral, current comparison of the listings Synthenova can verify—not a review of either company. The table covers inventory size, remote labels, disclosed USD pay, credential language, and posting age as observed on July 30, 2026.

What the comparison can answer

This page is useful when deciding where the currently visible opportunity mix is broadest, whether a source publishes more explicit pay fields, or how often its records use remote and credential language. Those are observable listing properties. They can change whenever either source adds, edits, closes, or relabels a role, so the verification date matters more than a permanent winner.

A higher count does not prove that a platform is easier to join, sends more interviews, pays faster, or produces better work. Counts can also reflect ingestion coverage, posting duration, and how a source divides one project into specialist roles. Synthenova deliberately withholds candidate outcome comparisons until at least 20 optional reports support the relevant aggregate.

How compensation is compared

The pay row includes only listings that explicitly provide USD currency and a maximum that can be normalized. Hourly rates are converted using 40 hours per week and 52 weeks divided by 12; weekly and annual rates use corresponding calendar conversions. The result excludes bonuses, equity, taxes, platform fees, unpaid time, and any guarantee of available hours.

Missing currency is treated as missing, even when a source interface appears to imply dollars. This makes the sample smaller but avoids turning a visual assumption into a data claim. Inspect the original listing before comparing actual offers.

Remote work and credentials

“Remote” means the location or work-arrangement field contains that word. It does not mean worldwide eligibility. Many remote roles still restrict applicant countries, time zones, professional licenses, or work authorization. Credential mentions use a narrow list including doctorate, MD, JD, licensure, bar admission, and board certification; equivalent wording may be missed.

Choose using the role, not the aggregate

Start with the current Mercor guide and jobs or micro1 guide and jobs, then compare individual descriptions, source-quality indicators, and verification dates. The AI Expert Work Index provides the wider domain mix and downloadable aggregate data. The methodology explains exactly how Synthenova deduplicates and retires records.
