Job sourcing methodology

Last updated: 29 July 2026.

This page explains where listings come from, what Synthenova changes, and what candidates should verify before applying.

Sources and attribution

Listings are aggregated from third-party talent and recruiting platforms, currently including Mercor and micro1. Every card and job page names its source. The Apply button opens the source platform, which remains authoritative for availability, eligibility, and the application process.

Refresh and verification sequence

Synthenova regenerates search results from records currently marked active by the source feed. At publication time, the site checks for a usable application URL, employer identity, original posting date, substantive description, and truthful location eligibility. The result timestamp shows when the current page response was generated; the newest-listing timestamp separately shows the newest source posting represented in those results.

Publishing eligibility

A job enters search-engine discovery only when it has a title, named employer, meaningful description, posting date, valid application URL, and a supported remote or physical location. Incomplete listings can remain useful in on-site search without receiving JobPosting markup or inclusion in the XML sitemap.

Duplicate handling

Active records with the same normalized role title, employer, and description are treated as one listing in search and sitemap discovery. Newer source records are preferred when exact duplicates exist.

Whitespace and capitalization differences do not make two records unique. A genuinely different employer, role, or description remains a separate opportunity. Near-identical language variants are not merged unless the normalized signature is exact because their eligibility requirements can differ.

Compensation

The source amount, currency, and frequency are preserved when disclosed. For comparison filters, hourly compensation is converted using 40 hours per week and 52 weeks divided by 12. Estimates do not include bonuses, equity, taxes, fees, or unpaid time.

For example, a disclosed rate of 50 per hour normalizes to roughly 8,667 per month using 50 × 40 × 52 ÷ 12. Synthenova does not add a currency to structured data when the source feed has not supplied one, even if a source interface visually suggests a currency symbol.

Freshness and removals

Search results are regenerated regularly from active source records. Explicitly expired or inactive jobs are excluded from the sitemap and JobPosting markup. Because source status can change between refreshes, candidates should confirm every detail on the original listing.

Known limitations

Source feeds do not always provide an expiry date, employer website, logo, currency, or applicant-country restriction. Synthenova omits unsupported structured claims rather than guessing. Fully remote roles without a verified eligible country and descriptions without enough role-specific detail are excluded from Google JobPosting discovery, even when they remain available in the on-site search experience.

Change log

On 29 July 2026, Synthenova introduced stricter description and remote location gates, exact-signature deduplication, source attribution on cards, canonical pagination, permanent slug redirects, and expanded publisher disclosures.
